Or at least that used to be my motto. Now I'm a father of two so I have less time for either of my hobbies. I can't complain, though. I love my kids, and my writing hobby has seen some success lately.
My first book, "Finding Heroes," is the nonfiction story of the recovery effort following the Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster, focusing on the recovery of the seven astronauts.
My second book, "Ace Hawkins and the Wrath of Santa", a dark humor fiction piece, came out in 2008. This odd little book was inspired by a need to break a massive case of writer's block that followed the end of the three years it took to write Finding Heros.
My third book, "Doppelganger", my first serious horror novel, actually written all the way back in 1999, is due out this summer.

On the non-writing side of life, I'm a third generation funeral director and embalmer, working at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill Texas.
